Emperor Frederick II regained Jerusalem and the Holy land for Christendom through diplomacy, not war and was crowned king of Jerusalem in the Holy Sepulchre in the presence of the Grandmaster of the Order of the Teutonic Knights, Hermann von Salza, on 18th March 1229.
